Cambridge University Symphony Chorus
Cambridge University Symphony ChorusPresented by Saffron Hall
Cambridge University Symphony Chorus makes a jubilant return to Saffron Hall with Bach's sumptuous Christmas Oratorio.
One of Bach’s most lavish musical achievements, the oratorio comprises a number of cantatas written to celebrate the Christmas period. Developing the best of his earlier work, Bach paints the most brilliant of musical pictures; and the Chorus provides a fore-taste of the coming season with a selection of these opulent pieces.
Under the direction of its new Musical Director, Richard Wilberforce, the Chorus is delighted to be joined once again by the East Anglia Chamber Orchestra; and welcomes a set of outstanding soloists to Saffron Hall.
