Saffron Hall Launches Autumn 2024 Season
Saffron Hall unveils its lineup for the Autumn 2024 Season, showcasing an array of world-class concerts and events at the award-winning concert hall. Immerse yourself in a typically eclectic range of performances spanning classical, jazz, folk, opera, pantomime and more, in a season where there is truly something for everyone.
KEY HIGHLIGHTS:
Orchestral:
-Two exceptional performances by the London Philharmonic Orchestra featuring the remarkable talents of Benjamin Grosvenor (29 September) and Zlatomir Fung (30 November).
-Enthralling concerts by the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, presenting the Brandenburg Concertos (16 November) and the electrifying Baroquebusters (11 January).
-The extraordinary Orchestra of the Swan, presenting Red Sky at Sunrise: Laurie Lee in Words and Music (27 October).
Classical:
-A recital by Pavel Kolesnikov and Samson Tsoy, showcasing their virtuosity with music for four hands (24 November).
-An enchanting performance by the sensational brother-and-sister duo Sheku and Isata Kanneh-Mason (1 November).
-Stirring vocal performances by The Tallis Scholars (20 October) and The Sixteen (8 November), promising to transport audiences with their sublime interpretations.
Opera:
-English Touring Opera returns with a Double Bill, featuring Judith Weir’s Blond Eckbert (18 October) and Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Snowmaiden (19 October), sure to appeal to opera aficionados.
-Saffron Opera Group presents a spellbinding performance of Wagner’s Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, adding another dimension to the operatic offerings of the season (15 September).
Folk and Jazz:
-Prepare to be enchanted by the renowned Irish singer Cara Dillon in her acclaimed Coming Home show (28 September), and embark on The Green Man Tour with Steeleye Span (10 October), both promising folk music at its finest.
-Jazz enthusiasts will be treated to exceptional performances, including Ronnie Scott’s at Christmas (14 December), featuring the Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra, and the entrancing Julian Bliss Septet paying tribute to the legendary Benny Goodman (9 November).
Christmas:
-Embrace the holiday spirit at Saffron Hall with a delightful array of Christmas-themed performances, including Christmas at the Musicals (7 December), Jack and the Beanstalk (22-29 December), and the soul-stirring collaboration between Manchester Camerata & AMC Gospel Choir for festive gospel favourites (8 December). Conclude the season with Tenebrae and the Academy of Ancient Music for Handel’s Messiah, a truly uplifting experience (15 December).
