Anne Sofie von Otter & Brooklyn Rider

Anne Sofie von Otter & Brooklyn Rider

Presented by Saffron Hall

Brooklyn Rider 2

The New York-based string quartet Brooklyn Rider, famed for its cutting-edge work, here teams up with Grammy Award-winning Swedish mezzo Anne Sofie von Otter to perform music from their album 'So Many Things'. From the touching power of Philip Glass’s film music for Bent, via Janáček at his most searingly intimate, to the Kabuki-style mysteriousness of Björk’s Cover Me, you can expect the unexpected in a brilliant evening of mashed-up melodies from the pop, indie and classical worlds.

"So Many Things... so much fascinating and wonderful music out there to discover, to perform and to record. This disc is about music from our days: 1990s to 2015. I am bringing two worlds together on So Many Things. In fact I don't see them as two worlds at all, but just plain old good, interesting, attractive music that moves and inspires me." Anne Sofie von Otter

"Working with the incomparable Anne Sofie von Otter has been a near constant reminder that there is nothing quite as expressive as the human voice. ... In our experience, it is almost always in the reaching between two mediums where the interesting 'stuff' happens." Brooklyn Rider
