BBC Radio 3 Big Chamber Weekend

BBC Radio 3 Big Chamber Weekend

Presented by Saffron Hall

BBC Chamber Weekend

Few young British composers are as colourful and original as former BBC Young Musician of the Year and BBC New Generation Artist Mark Simpson. “The bravura, the assurance and the sheer generosity of this music is unarguable” wrote The Spectator last year – but Simpson is also a virtuoso clarinettist, and he enjoys the intimacy of making chamber music with friends. In collaboration with BBC Radio 3, he’s in residence at Saffron Hall all weekend, introducing his own music (including a brand new work) and joining a team of star guests in the music he loves best: from the poetry of Schumann and Brahms to the exuberance of Bernstein and Gershwin. Three concerts, one extraordinary musician.

Our freshly made Deli Boxes will be served between this concert and the evening concert starting at 7.30pm. Click here for more information.
