BBC Radio 3 comes to Saffron Hall for the weekend. Sara Mohr-Pietsch introduces recitals from Norwegian pianist Christian Ihle Hadland and three musicians he collaborates with closely. The acoustic of our hall is simply perfect for chamber music, and each concert is being recorded for future broadcast.
Late in life, Brahms turned to chamber music. His lovely A minor Trio is emotion recollected in maturity; warm, songful, and glowing with autumn colours. Here it’s the summing up of an evening that begins amidst the musical fireworks of Szymanowski and Beethoven – glittering showcases for the artistry of the young Norwegian pianist Christian Ihle Hadland and his friends – and the fire and ice of Sibelius’s youthful String Trio
Special offer: Book a ticket to all three BBC Radio 3 Big Chamber Weekend concerts for £30.
