Unfortunately Christine Rice has had to withdraw from the BBC Symphony Orchestra’s performance at Saffron Hall on Sunday 17th February. We are very grateful to Hanna Hipp who has agreed to take her place. The programme remains unchanged.

“Which can lift us to the sublimest heights – music, or love?” Hector Berlioz was the ultimate Romantic composer, pouring out his most passionate emotions in music of dazzling imagination and power. Broadcast live on BBC Radio 3, this celebration concert from BBC Symphony Orchestra sweeps from the tender poetry of Les Nuits d’été (with the original 4 different voices) to the no-holds-barred phantasmagoria of his Symphonie fantastique: as astonishing now as it was in 1830.

Find out more about Berlioz and the pieces in this programme in our blog post here.
