Beethoven: Britten Sinfonia with Thomas Adès

Beethoven: Britten Sinfonia with Thomas Adès

Presented by Saffron Hall

Thomas Ades

'Thomas Adès makes you hear things with which you thought you were familiar as if they were completely new’ wrote the Guardian’s Tom Service. In this concert which is centred on the work and influence of Beethoven, Adès sheds new light on Beethoven’s witty first symphony and the virtuosic second. The programme is complemented by Gerald Barry’s powerful setting of Beethoven’s love letter to his ‘immortal beloved’.

6.30pm A pre-concert talk about tonight’s programme with Mark Stone.

This concert will finish at approximately 9.15pm
