Béla Fleck & Abigail Washburn

Béla Fleck & Abigail Washburn

Presented by Saffron Hall

Bela Fleck and Abigail Washburn

Béla Fleck is one of the world’s great instrumentalists – a master of the banjo, the leader of The Flecktones and an extraordinary collaborator with the likes of Chick Corea and Toumani Diabate. His Grammy-winning partnership with singer and instrumentalist Abigail Washburn creates magic from a crafted choice of both traditional and original songs, and the fast-fingered interplay of two artists who create an astonishing sonic landscape from an array of banjos, all laced with a captivating warmth and playfulness.

On stage, Fleck & Washburn perform pieces from their self-titled debut as well as their following record, Echo in the Valley. Their recent recording together on Rounder Records is ‘a modern masterpiece of Americana; two banjos, two voices and occasional percussion vibrating dust off the wooden floorboards' (Glide Magazine).

This performance is due to end at approximately 9.50pm.
