This concert will be cancelled or postponed. We will update ticket-holders with more information as soon as we can.

Britten Sinfonia and Alison Balsom join forces for a very special programme of music exploring more than 300 years of composition. Ancient and contemporary influences are intertwined, with arrangements of Purcell by some of the greatest composers of the 20th and 21st centuries, including John Woolrich’s Hark! The echoing air, a new trumpet concerto inspired by Purcell’s The Fairy-Queen.

Alison Balsom is one of classical music’s most persuasive and engaging ambassadors, as well as a passionate advocate for her instrument, involved in transcribing, arranging and commissioning new trumpet works.
