Emerson String Quartet

Emerson String Quartet

Presented by Saffron Hall

The Emerson String Quartet

Is this the world’s finest string quartet? The Emerson String Quartet’s nine Grammies and three Gramophone Awards make a powerful case. For their Saffron Hall debut they’re playing the visionary First Quartet by American maverick Charles Ives. But Haydn and Schumann frame the programme, and when you hear the Emersons play them you’ll agree with The Times: “with musicians like this there must be some hope for humanity”.

This concert will finish at approximately 9.25pm
