Essex Youth Orchestra Concert

Essex Youth Orchestra Concert

Presented by Saffron Hall

Essex Youth Orchestra are set to perform a stimulating concert. The orchestra will open with Iron Foundry by Mosolov, an excellent example of Soviet futurist music, using mechanical rhythms so the sections of the orchestra appear to work together like the cogs of a machine. The second piece, Shostakovich Symphony No. 5, is Shostakovich’s best-known symphony which over four movements engages with all manner of human emotions.

Please note, there will be a performance by the Essex Youth Jazz Sextet in the hall from 7.30pm, which all ticket holders are welcome to attend.
