Foyer Jazz

Presented by Saffron Hall

Dan Forshaw

End the week with a laid-back evening in the Saffron foyer. A well-stocked bar, food trucks serving a superb selection of street food from MeatLess, plus Dan Forshaw Quintet's Celebrating Blue Note. Eat, drink, get into the swing and unwind!

Blue Note records not only inspired generations of jazz musicians, they paved the way for the hip-hop revolution of the early 90s.

Albert Lion and Francis Wolff recorded some of the greatest jazz musicians of all time and their legacy lives on, some 77 years since the album was born. Musicians such as John Coltrane, Horace Silver, Dexter Gordon, Sonny Rollins, Art Blakey, Wayne Shorter and Joe Henderson all recorded on Blue Note, and it's there music you will hear as part of Celebrating Blue Note.

Award-winning saxophonist Dan Forshaw leads his quintet with Steve Fishwick on trumpet, Rachael Johnson on piano, Jose Canha on bass and Lewis Isaacs on drums.
