Heroes & Villains: A Concert for Families

Heroes & Villains: A Concert for Families

Presented by Saffron Hall

Heroes and Villains

Saffron Walden Symphony Orchestra conducted by Richard Hull. Narrator and Illustrator James Mayhew with Antonio Reche-Martinez.

Crossbows and apples, trolls, dragons, a knight who liked to prepare properly, and other tales of derring-do (and derring-don’t) have inspired some wonderfully stirring music. Listen and watch as James and Antonio paint scenes from the stories live on stage.

Programme to include music from Rossini’s William Tell Overture, Grieg’s Peer Gynt, and other treats including a special performance of Bernard Hughes’ setting of James Mayhew’s The Knight Who Took All Day.
