No one has done more to enhance the image of the harpsichord in recent years than the Iranian-American virtuoso Mahan Esfahani who has captivated audiences with his fiery and engaging performances. In this concert he performs, and directs Britten Sinfonia, in a programme peppered with Mediterranean flavour including one of De Falla’s most popular ballet scores featuring the stunning Ritual Fire Dance.
Pre-concert talk: 6.30pm
There will be a pre-concert talk with Mahan Esfahani at 6.30pm (free to ticket holders). Due to rehearsals in the Hall, the pre-concert talk will take place in the Sixth Form Common Room. There will be plenty of signs to show you the way and our stewards will be on hand to direct you when you arrive.
This concert will finish at approximately 9.20pm
