National Youth Jazz Orchestra

Presented by Saffron Hall

National Youth Jazz Orchestra in concert

The most exciting up-and-coming young jazz talents of today join forces to celebrate the music that gets us grooving, from the forties to the noughties. Classic tunes by Duke Ellington rub shoulders with hits from Kylie Minogue in a brilliantly eclectic and diverse programme. Be wowed by the blistering energy of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra which, in its fifty-year history, has launched hundreds of stellar artists, including Guy Barker and Amy Winehouse.

During the afternoon NYJO will work with aspiring jazz musicians from SWCHS.

This concert will finish at approximately 9.30pm

About the Artists

The National Youth Jazz Orchestra (NYJO) is Britain’s longest-running organisation for young people up to 25 playing big-band jazz. Formed 50 years ago to fill a gap in jazz education, the charity’s mission is to perform exceptional music to excite audiences and engage with young people of all backgrounds around the country.
