SWCS: An Evening of French Choral and Chamber Music
SWCS: An Evening of French Choral and Chamber MusicPresented by Saffron Hall
‘My Requiem is dominated from beginning to end by a very human feeling of faith in eternal rest,’ said Fauré. Saffron Walden Choral Society, under the baton of their charismatic conductor Janet Wheeler, close their season with a performance of this touching and spiritually universal work, which contains the haunting (and deservedly much anthologized) Pie Jesu. Ravel’s String Quartet and Introduction & Allegro together with Lili Boulanger’s exquisite Hymne au Soleil and Psaume 24 complete this summer evening of beautiful French music.
This concert will finish at approximately 9.25pm
