Saffron Walden Symphony Orchestra & George Harliono

Saffron Walden Symphony Orchestra & George Harliono

Presented by Saffron Hall

George Harliono

15 year-old local piano prodigy George Harliono is already conquering the world with acclaimed performances in Europe and South America. Returning to perform once again with Saffron Walden Symphony Orchestra, he performs Beethoven’s Emperor concerto, a work which, in the dramatic interplay between orchestra and soloist, suggests the struggles and triumphs of a great and noble spirit. The programme also includes two great Scandinavian works: Edward Tubin’s monumental Symphony No 3 – a large-scale re-working of folk-like themes, and fully deserving of its title ‘Heroic’ – and a masterpiece of windswept tone-painting from Sibelius.

This concert will finish at approximately 9.15pm
