The Hot Sardines

The Hot Sardines

Presented by Saffron Hall

The Hot Sardines

Sassy brass, salty stride piano, and a diva with attitude to spare – the Sardines offer a blistering, jazzy slice of between-the-wars cabaret, whisking you from the smoky dives of New Orleans to the boîtes of Paris. Fronted by the glamorous 1930s-style chanteuse Miz Elizabeth, and driven by bandleader Evan ‘Bibs’ Palazzo, the Sardines the keep energy levels sky-high with a mash-up of gypsy swing, bold blues and razzle-dazzle tap-dancing. A captivating contemporary take on the history-defining jazz of the 1920s, 30s and 40s.

‘Their live show was simply phenomenal, crisp musicianship going hand in hand with immaculate and witty showmanship.’ The Times

Running time: approximately 2 hours including a 20 minute interval.
