The Sixteen
The SixteenPresented by Saffron Hall
Imagine the glittering domes of St Mark’s Venice in the early 17th century, ringing and resounding with song. To hear Monteverdi’s Vespers of 1610 performed live is to travel back in time, and to experience some of the greatest choral music of any era. It’s a masterpiece that crosses the centuries, and it’s performed today by Harry Christophers and The Sixteen – artists who have spent a lifetime immersed in Monteverdi’s extraordinary imagination.
