BBC Big Band
BBC Big BandPresented by Saffron Hall
The internationally-acclaimed BBC Big Band are joined by the incredible vocal talents of Elaine Delmar for an evening of swinging classics inspired by two legends of Big Band and Jazz: Ella Fitzgerald and Duke Ellington.
Through their work individually, as well as through their various album and live collaborations, these two giants of twentieth-century music continue to define and epitomise a classic era of music. Through a wonderfully diverse programme, curated by the Orchestra’s conductor and Barry Forgie, prepare for a swinging evening that brings to life Ella’s and the Duke’s timeless music.
Featuring iconic numbers such as Take the A Train, Mood Indigo and It Don’t Mean a Thing (If It Ain’t Got That Swing) through to the likes of That Old Black Magic, Fascinating Rhythm and Someone to Watch Over Me … as well as a few surprises along the way.
