Chamber Orchestra of Europe Play Beethoven

Chamber Orchestra of Europe Play Beethoven

Presented by Saffron Hall

Tickets from £27

Price includes a commission of £1.00

Beethoven’s final two piano concertos make for the grandest of pairings, the poise and elegance of the Fourth contrasting with the unstoppable energy and imposing nobility of the Fifth.

Sunwook Kim brings a lucid clarity and a range of piano colours to his interpretations. Directing the scintillating collective of some of Europe’s finest orchestral musicians from the keyboard promises new revelations in these touchstones of the piano concerto repertoire. They open with Anna Clyne’s witty, vibrant music, drawing inspiration – and much of its source material – from fragments of Beethoven’s late piano sonata, the Pathetique.
