Neil Cowley Trio

Neil Cowley Trio

Presented by Saffron Hall

Tickets from £18

Price includes a commission of £1.00

Neil Cowley’s brand of riff-driven, lyrical jazz has always been a joyous outlier. Combining catchy hooks, perky melodies, and an occasional wistful introspection, his multi-layered music has a cumulative energy and cinematic sweep. ‘He inventively turns a traditionally laid-back lineup into a rousingly charismatic instrumental pop band’, enthused The Guardian.

This is the Trio’s first tour for over seven years. Their intuitive understanding leaps from the speakers in their Autumn 2024 album release Entity. Hearing this new material alongside some of their back-catalogue promises an evening rich in invention and engaging, heart-on-sleeve music-making. As Cowley himself says, it is ‘three people conversing, supporting and metaphorically dancing together. It is a society of friends all looking out for each other.
