Schools' KS1 concert: The Robot and the Bluebird

Schools' KS1 concert: The Robot and the Bluebird

Presented by Saffron Hall

Performance at 10.30am (duration c. 60 minutes).

For school and education groups – £3 per child; teachers and necessary accompanying adults come for free.

We are delighted to present a performance of The Robot and The Bluebird, an interactive concert for Key Stage 1 students (years 1-3), featuring Saffron Hall’s Resident Orchestra, Britten Sinfonia.

The Robot and the Bluebird is based on a children’s book by David Lucas and includes new music created by Raph Clarkson and animations by Victor Craven. There will be live animations projected behind the performers based on the illustrations from the book.

The concert is approximately one hour long. We provide all teachers with a resource pack, online videos, and a copy of the book to explore in advance. There are four interactive songs, a piece for body percussion, and a guided moment of meditation. The concert is presented by a 12-piece ensemble and narrator, Sheena Masson.

The concert is designed to be sung by children, so we highly recommend that teachers attend a 1-hour twilight CPD session with workshop leader and presenter, Sheena Masson, between 4.30pm and 5.30pm on Monday 4 November at Saffron Walden County High School, Saffron Walden. Please contact schools@saffronhall.com if you are unable to attend the CPD session but would still like to bring your pupils to the concert.

Booking is open to schools and education groups – please fill in our request form and a member of our team will get back to you to confirm your booking: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSex8MViSUX1x12iRTNj6s75bH7Qq7QoLhr-Lka60foMWVq6aQ/viewform?usp=sf_link
